Excitement and challenges marked the Day 1 of the ongoing Zamboanga Sibugay Provincial Meet for athletics enthusiasts. The Athletic event, which scheduled to run from March 25 to 26, 2023, at the Ipil SPED oval field, provided an avenue for young athletes to showcase their skills in running and represent their respective School Learning Centers (SLCs).
A total of 216 delegates from four SLCs participated in the athletics event, with each SLC composed of 12 girls and 12 boys for the elementary category and 15 girls and boys for the secondary category. Coaches and parents of the athletes were present during the event, showing their support through a shout of applause and encouragement.
Despite the scorching heat of the sun, the athletes persevered and gave their all in each event. However, the event was not without its challenges, as many of the athletes were still beginners and struggled due to the lack of proper training and preparation. Some even collapsed due to exhaustion.
