“Hiring of teachers must continue,” says SDS Aleman
September 8, 2020| by: Renz Roy A. Ramos

OIC-SDS Aleman of Zamboanga Sibugay has assured school heads attending the Division Management Committee (DIMANCOM) early this June the continuity of hiring teachers despite the suspension of the opening of classes to October 5.

She emphasized, even with the COVID-19 pandemic, the hiring of itemed- teachers continued to ensure that the Division thru its 505 schools is in control of education. “We cannot leave any child without a teacher,” Dr. Jeanelyn Aleman added.

To note, Zamboanga Sibugay Division is currently implementing its Learning Continuity Plan (LCP), for which, one of the salient features is the strict observance of the required health protocols established by the IATF. These protocols are fully observed by the newly hired, specifically in the processing of documents relative to appointment.

On the other hand, the Division Ranking Committee thru the Personnel Promotion Board chaired by ASDS Raymond Salvador has completed the ranking of teacher-applicants that had commenced December of 2019.

The appointment of new teachers would help to further decongest Zamboanga Sibugay schools with the current ratio of 1:23 for elementary and Junior High School and 1:28 for Senior High School, per enrolment quick count data.

“Applicants who did not meet the standard score of 70 points may be hired as substitute teachers or may serve as volunteer teachers,” ASDS Salvador added.
