Department of Education – Zamboanga Sibugay - The Department of Education – Sibugay Division Office recently held a Scholarship Convergence and Recognition of Zamboanga Sibugay Scholars at Rodericks Resort, Taway, Ipil town, here. An event intended for the scholars was well-attended by Sibugay Division Officials, headed by the Schools Division Superintendent, Dr. Jeanelyn A. Aleman, CESO VI, Assistant Schools Division Superintendent, Dr. Aurelio A. Santisas with division personnel, guests and resource speaker, Chief Administrative Officer and the National Educators Academy of the Philippines (NEAP), Region IX Focal Person, Dr. Romeo Daligdig. 

The occasion was a precise time to recognize and award teaching and non-teaching scholars provincewide who successfully completed their courses from different scholarship grants and programs sponsored by the Philippine Normal University-Linking Quality Practices (PNU-LISQUP), National Commission on Culture and the Arts & Andrea O. Veneracion Sing Philippines Foundation, Inc., National Grid Corporation (NGCP), Southeast Asian Minister of Education, Organization, Innovation and Technology (SEAMEO INNOTECH-GURO Batch 1), Southeast Asian Institute of Education Training Inc. (SEAIETI) through the NEAP. 

“We always capitalize on scholarship programs because this is the only way we can pay back the effort, commitment and even the love and passion of all the teachers in the field, to meet and provide quality basic education” Dr. Daligdig emphasized as he took the opportunity to give credit and congratulated the scholars who undoubtedly accepted the arduous challenge.

As presented by the Education Program Supervisor on Schools Governance and Operations Division, Rosmindo L. Ancheta, Jr., out of 126 total number of recipients, 106 were completers and ongoing scholars.

Among them, three willingly and decisively shared their distinctive experiences and appreciation for the opportunity provided to them, paving the way to develop their self-growth. 

“Much more to that excellence is the ability to learn without spending money. Thanks to LISQUOP, NEAP and DepEd - Sibugay Division that I was able to make this dream into a reality,” Mr. Noel Mark M. Torralba, Teacher III of Makilas National High School gratefully stressed.

“Being a scholar is both a privilege and a responsibility,” Ms. Garend E. Temporada, Teacher III of Olutanga National High School defined her journey to being a SEAIETI scholar.

“My experience to travel to attend a significant event was my first time to represent the rest of the scholars in our region. It was quite a colossal opportunity, an honor to uphold and a memory to heartily keep and treasure,” the Regional Ambassador for Scholars, Mr. Rey M. Dalumpines, Master Teacher - I of Camanga National High School, mentioned. 

He also attended the Inauguration of the NEAP Facility and NEAP Transformation Launch and shared how grateful he was having an opportune time to attend a big and remarkable event with the Regional Director, Dr. Ruth L. Fuentes, CESO V and SDS Aleman which was recently held in the “City of Pines” and the ‘Summer Capital of the Philippines, Baguio City.

SDS Aleman repeatedly congratulated and appreciated the scholars for defying the odds as they accepted and completed their scholarships and conquered challenges along the way. 

More opportunities await for everyone in terms of scholarship grants and programs was reiterated by Senior Education Program Specialist on Human Resource Development, Alma Fraulein N. Garcia, Ed.D.

Without a doubt, DepEd Sibugay Division Office in line with the department’s vision, enables its teaching and non-teaching personnel have the opportunities to realize their full potentials and contribute meaningfully to nation building.
